Confirm the category before choosing the villa
The current overview requires pets to weigh under 50 pounds, not 50 pounds or less. It excludes Treehouses. Other accommodation is not blanket permission: submit pet type and weight and ask the resort to approve the exact category in writing.

A villa’s layout and pet permission answer different questions. Compare sleeping arrangements and guest occupancy separately, especially when travelling with children; a suitable layout alone does not establish approval.
Separate policy charges from the full stay total
The overview currently lists USD 100 per pet per day. Private Homes require an additional USD 3,000 pet deposit. Ask how days are counted and when the deposit is collected and returned; do not treat a deposit as a non-refundable fee without written terms.
Current booking terms state nightly rates in USD include daily breakfast at Alma. They add 21% Sales & Occupancy Tax and 15% Service Charge, with 16% Sales Tax on food/beverage and other purchases. Charges can change. Request itemized amounts and applicable bases rather than calculating a homemade all-in percentage.
Compare identical dates, guests and approved categories. Confirm payment currency, deposit schedule, cancellation deadlines and breakfast conditions. Pet access restrictions still apply when breakfast is included; do not assume your pet may join you at Alma.
Confirm the journey as well as the stay
The overview describes Puerto Vallarta airport to resort as about one hour by luxury SUV or Sprinter, not a guaranteed journey time. Booking terms say private transfers can be arranged and requested at least 24 hours before arrival. Arrange pet details earlier where possible; that notice does not guarantee pet transport.

Before requesting a pet-stay quote
Can I book a Treehouse with my pet?
No. The resort overview excludes pets from Treehouses. Use the accommodation pages to compare layouts, then request written approval for an exact alternative category before paying.
Is a Cliff Villa automatically pet-approved?
No. A distinct villa layout is not proof of pet eligibility. Specify pet type and weight and obtain category-specific approval; do not assume every non-Treehouse accepts every pet.
Where can my pet accompany me?
The current overview allows the beach but excludes restaurants, spa, fitness centre and pool areas, including cabanas and daybeds. Pets must remain leashed and may not be left unattended. Reconfirm access rules before booking.
Does a private transfer guarantee pet transport?
No. Ask for explicit pet acceptance, crate or seat requirements, vehicle, price and timing. A transfer arrangement without those details does not establish that your pet can travel.
What should the final quote include?
The approved category and pet, stay charges, pet fees, any Private Home deposit, itemized taxes and service, breakfast terms and transfer arrangements. Keep payment dates, cancellation deadlines and deposit refund conditions with the written quote.
