Match the category to your family
Sweni welcomes children of all ages. Lebombo’s detailed information specifies age 10+ for standard suites and permits younger children in two-bedroom suites or the villa. Use these category-specific rules rather than the broader family-page summary. Published configurations are not available inventory.

Resolve the vehicle before comparing totals
Sweni’s current rates describe complimentary private-vehicle use for families of four or more including a child under 10; families of up to three with a child under 10 must pay for private-vehicle use. Lebombo’s rates specify the two-bedroom suite for both family sizes, with the same included-versus-paid distinction. For a villa booking, confirm the applicable vehicle and guide arrangement explicitly.
The Sweni Pool Suite separately lists a private guide and private game drives. Do not extend that inclusion to every Sweni suite. Children’s safari participation remains at guide discretion regardless of vehicle choice.
Separate the stay from the journey
Compare accommodation with the published meals and beverages, twice-daily game drives and walking safaris where applicable, Satara-airstrip return road transfers and laundry. Confirm category-specific private arrangements and the actual activity plan.
Itemize exclusions: Sweni lists tourism levy and conservation contribution, carbon offset levy, wellness, purchases, additional activities and reserve transport. Lebombo lists tourism and carbon offset levies, telephone calls, purchases, wellness, certain special meals and reserve transport. Request each property’s final contributions and exclusions rather than copying another lodge’s total.
Singita describes scheduled Federal Air services or private charter access, with flights operating only during daylight and restrictions applying. Satara road transfers do not include the flight. Flight tariffs can change and incremental fuel surcharges may be payable; confirm routing, baggage, connections and every transport charge before accepting.
Before requesting a quote
Can a child under ten stay at Lebombo?
Yes, in the two-bedroom suite or villa under current information-page rules, not a standard suite. Submit every child’s age and ask for the exact category and occupancy in writing.
Is a private vehicle included?
It depends on family size and category. Current rules distinguish families of four or more from those of up to three when a child is under ten. Ask for the vehicle, guide and any supplement as separate confirmed quote lines.
Can every child join every safari?
No. Children’s participation in game activities remains at the guide’s discretion for safety. A private vehicle does not remove that discretion; discuss suitable family activities without assuming every drive or walk is appropriate.
Are flights part of the lodge rate?
Do not assume so. Published Satara-airstrip road transfers are different from transport to the reserve. Request scheduled or private flights separately, including daylight timing, baggage conditions, fuel charges and onward connections.
What should I confirm before paying?
Save the exact property, category, dates, guests, total currency, inclusions, exclusions and levies, with flight and private-vehicle arrangements. Obtain the deposit schedule and cancellation deadlines attached to your selected booking, not another family’s quote.
